The story of why, when, how you decided to move here (or stay here): I decided to move to Rochester in January 2004. I grew up in a small town south of Buffalo that didn’t have the job market that Rochester or Buffalo did. I had some family here, my best friend growing up, who went to Roberts, was also here, as well as lots of Bonas friends who either already lived or moved here, so I started applying for jobs and after accepting one, moved the hour and a half north. I’ve worked for the Rochester Red Cross, the National MS Society Upstate New York Chapter , and am currently with the YMCA, which I love! Also, my sister is currently attending MCC, so I’m enjoying being able to hang out with her!

What would you tell a college student (who is trying to decide where to live after graduation) about what life is like here post-college? Life here is what you make it (that goes for any city). If you think you’ll enjoy living in Rochester, try it out. If you end up not liking it, move somewhere else. It’s as easy as that.
