Victor de Leon

The story of why, when, how you decided to move here (or stay here): About two months ago my company, Earth Tech, Inc., relocated me to Rochester to work on a contract/project we have with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA). I typically move to a different city every three to six months.

Where you went to undergraduate college / graduate school: I graduated from the University of Texas San Antonio in December 2002.

Degree(s) you earned: I earned a B.A. in Communication, with a concentration in Public Relations, and a minor in Business.

Where you work now and your job title: I work for Earth Tech, Inc. My title is Field Contract Administrator.

Where do you live? I currently live in Rochester. However, my real home is in south Texas and north Mexico (my parents are divorced – one lives in south Texas and the other in north Mexico).

What do you like about life in Rochester? I’ve only been in Rochester two months and so far so good. I’ve really enjoyed the recent warm weather and festivals. And everyone I’ve come across is very friendly.

What do you do for fun? My job involves 100% travel, so I enjoy traveling and discovering new places. I also enjoy working out, reading, almost all outdoor sports and occasionally bar hopping.

What you would tell a college student (who is trying to decide where to live after graduation) about what life is like here post-college? I don’t have much experience living in Rochester post-college, but the time I’ve spent here thus far has been fun. I’ve really enjoy being close to the lake and Canada. Seems like everything is just a short drive or train ride away. And there are a lot of outdoor activities to do – weather permitting of course.
